I just received the radio. I programmed the radio with RTS software. I will amend this after mounting and using Seller does not answer emails and questions , but the rest of the experience was top notch. When I drove out I kept in constant contact with my base radio and was able to keep up talking way past the mountain I thought would block the signal. Use this in conjunction with a good base antenna and your range will be farther than you would expect. It has plenty of power and the receive sensitivity is excellent.
